I think the new stadium is interesting looking, but count me among those who don't think it will be worth the price tag. I have been in the Georgia Dome several times (most recently at the Peach Bowl) and it is fine (not great, but not awful).
It is just stupid to spend that much money on a new stadium when you have a serviceable one. What a waste of resources. Atlanta is moving in the right direction, and there is a LOT that the city could do with that money (and yes, I realize the city isn't footing the whole bill).

Investing money into something isn't stupid. This is Arthur Blank's idea for bringing in tons of money in the future for the city of Atlanta; which is loaded to begin with.
Unless people know what's going on with the city of Atlanta nowadays, I don't think anyone can say it's a stupid idea and a waste of money. I dont live in Atlanta, but I also am not blind enough to realize that ATL is a different beast than it was 20 years ago.

I don't know where to begin.
How is it a waste of resources? What do you suggest the city should have spent the money on? keep in mind this is coming from a hotel tax where the money can only be used on things that boost tourism.
You cant say "they should have used the money on education", that isn't possible.
