I just recently went to David Burkes and I would not recommend it. Service was great and appetizers were good but the steaks were way underwhelming. I went with the 40 day age ribeye and it was slightly burnt, full of gristle and tough as all get out.
I ate at a bunch of places but Graham Elliot's was a really cool experience and the food was great. Do the chefs menu with the wine pairings.
Also Volare was really good as well.

Cafe Spiaggia is outstanding Italian - the gnocchi with wild boar was just awesome.
I also loved a place near the Art Institute called Cafecito, which is a great little cheep spot for lunch that has a mighty fine Cuban sammich.
