So why didn't FSU suffer from NFL losses?? Plus having a Fr QB?? Or how bout what Saban loses yearly with regards to players AND coaches?? Face it, no excuses work anymore for Miles. He was extremely fortunate to get the gig, and parlayed a full cupboard and more luck into a BCS title. Once the cupboard went 100% to him, and the luck faded, so have the NC. Saban now has a solid foot hold in La for the upper level recruits. The fan base is growing more apathetic yearly toward Miles because he is here for 6 more years. Apathy is worse than losing. And so it begins.

Take a look at FSU in the last 8 yrs and compare it to LSU. How many NCs or conference championships? How many top 10 matchups etc etc.

How many of FSU's players are starting in the NFL? We didn't just lose players to the NFL. We lost underclassmen who are starting in the NFL.

In all seriousness, Miles does recruit well.

HOWEVER...

Miles...

doesn't know how to motivate players
doesn't prepare a game plan that wins against good or great opponents,
does: panic when something doesn't go as expected
does: totally shite the bed at gametime
does: even worse when it's close at the end.

What does Saban do? Saban excels at ALL of those things.

Saban doesn't forget there's a game on Saturday in the fall.
Saban knows how to get his players to see beyond the scoreboard and how to get the most out of them for 60 minutes.
Saban and the players he's trained don't panic and abandon the run when they get behind by a score or two.
Saban at least has some rudimentary knowledge of the profound mysteries of clock management -- something Les seems to have no concept of.

Saban is not that brilliant actually. He just takes his job seriously. If Miles would do that and just a little bit mind you, we'd be in the NC discussion every year. Easily.
