Ok but what about all the others? Green Lanterns ring can navigate. Shazam? Maybe magic I guess.

Or, as Project pointed, how does Flash know how to get where he's going? Dude is constantly pulling a Jesus and running straight over the ocean. How???

I'm slightly hungover right now, and when I'm hungover I'm at my most cynical POV. This thread is a great creative outlet for that.
Why does it seem like every character that doesn't have the ability to fly is an expert pilot? And where do all these planes come from?

Great thing about Flash is that he goes back and forth in time, so if he fricks up he just jumps back a little.

During the scenes you don't see (like Batman on the shitter) they probably stop to consult a map.
For those in groups (JLA, Avengers, XMen) the explanations could be legion.
JLA, getting communication in their ear-pieces from the Watchtower about course corrections.
Avengers, GPS-enabled map nav on their ID cards
XMen, being guided there by a telepath.
