Mine is also Vanguard, through Alabama's College Counts program. Age-based, Aggressive. Just started this year, but things seem OK so far.
The one big advantage of 529s over ESAs is the annual contribution limit. Doubtful you could fund college maxing out an ESA. They are more flexible though.

We used the ESA's for my boys private school education. Started saving the day they were born. Had enough money in each account to pay for two years of tuition while my wife took some time off. It was nice being able to pull from the ESA, as opposed to pay it out of pocket.
My boys 529 accounts are with Utah and they are invested with Vanguard. I am extremely happy with Utah's plan.
