Forgot about that one. Hazy night. Drank very heavily and ended up puking at Tipitinas later on

Atlanta last year. The Monday loss to the Vikings.

Painful but very, very proud

Yesterday hurt, but the one that stands out above all the rest, which in fact is the most painful loss in Saints history, was the 49er game. The reason is that we would have played for another title. Eli wasn't winning in the dome, wasn't going to happen.

The Hartley missed chip shot loss to the falcons in 2010

Unless the regular season loss directly keeps us out of the playoffs I can't say it's that painful. The one exception being:

This was the worst IMO.
That being said, if you look how far we have gotten in our "disappointing" years... It makes me really appreciate how good we are now.

I'm going to assume last year doesn't count since SP wasn't coaching. Otherwise, the Chiefs game really hurt. Blowing that lead at home to that team I think killed any chance we had last season.

^ This is a distant second, and everything else is a way distant third.

Exactly. That was almost a guaranteed Saints Superbowl had they gotten past Joe Montana *cough* shitty Alex Smith *cough*
I have always hated the 9ers and this cemented it forever. frick those lucky pricks.

Exactly. Even though those are losses, I can appreciate it. But yeah that 49ers game is way up there. Pats game isn't even in the mix its just fresh on the mind.

That 2011 playoffs loss was terrible, we squandered a Super Bowl that year. That's why you need to win these type of games because it will play a factor in seeding. Same shite happen in '11 when we choked against an garbage winless Rams. We need homefield or at least a bye, this offense is just not as good away.

Honorable mention: 2008 @ TB
4th and 1 at TB 30 - Henderson end around for -3 yard
3rd and 1 at TB 26 - Bush around the right end - 3 yads
47/18 pass/run ratio, 3 int, 4 sacks, 2 penalties that wiped out first downs and a personal foul penalty that put TB in good starting field position.
Post season wasn't completely wiped out by this game, but there was no room for error and the Saints and Payton had their head up their arse for this game.

That TB game was a home game if I remember right. You all forgot about the MNF game against the Vikings when Reggie had the 2 TD's and had his head pulled backwards and no call was made.

that loss to Minnesota on Monday Night Football in 2008 sucked.
Reggie Bush had a good game returning punts.
