Then why does Ben Crane keep his card while being the slowest player on tour? He takes roughly the same number of strokes over the course of 4 days and does it a lot slower. If you are looking for your ball every hole it's a different story than not being long enough

What does that have to do with a slow play argument for regular joes?

You really think length adds no time for a slow player? If you are looking for your ball after every shot and you have to take more shots (on the longer tees), then you will take more time. Not to mention the tips usually have more trouble come into play by design to test skilled players
