I wont tell you how old I am because I am not trying to get all personal with you dudes but I am old enough to bang your mothers, young enough to date your daughters.

And stupid enough to think your opinion matters.

The student section has gotten so much lamer just in the past several years. It was way rowdier even in 2008 when we had a pretty bad season and went 8-5. I don't remember the student section emptying out to the extent is has been recently during any of those games except for the Troy game.
And STTDB is just stupid. Thanks to the majority of students being absolute morons, the song that got the entire crowd more pumped up than anything else is no longer allowed to be played. There used to be nothing better than the opposing team taking a timeout while LSU was on defense, the band playing Neck, and the crowd going nuts for our defense afterwards. I find it hard to believe that most of the students in the stands are real fans or actually love LSU. They'd rather pretend like they're badasses because they don't have their parents around to stop them from saying bad words. It's juvenile. To be fair, many students really do care and never leave early and cheer the entire game even in blowouts against teams like UAB. Those students are deserving of calling themselves LSU fans.
And as for the beach balls on Saturday, that was pitiful. With the defense on the field against ranked opponent in what is always a great game, most of the students were more concerned with hitting a piece of plastic than they were with watching the game and making noise.
I'm not an old man who hates fun. I'm a pretty recent graduate of LSU, and I actually would love for the student section to be as fun and rowdy as it used to be. There is nothing more fun than hearing the crowd roar continuously and getting into the opponents' heads. What the student section seems to no longer understand is that rowdy and fun doesn't equal yelling ridiculous profanities to every song the band plays and hitting beach balls. Rowdy and fun equals being loud for every defensive snap, staying the entire game, and making Tiger Stadium hell for the opponent.
