The thing with Romo (and other QB's like him) is that in this era of the pass and endless amounts of pro-QB regulations/protection stats are inflated. Over the last 15 or so years 4,000 yards has become the new 3,000 yards and 30 touchdowns the new 20. I'd put Romo in the same category as Matt Ryan, both are good quarterbacks, both are capable of getting a team with the right makeup to a Super Bowl, but neither are game-changing elite guys like Brees, Brady, or Manning who can an otherwise carry average team on their backs.

When you're a fan of a team that's been fortunate enough to have someone like Brees as your QB for a long time you tend to undervalue other signal callers in the league. There are a lot of mediocre to downright awful starting quarterbacks in this league and Romo is certainly not amongst them.
