The only time you can "prove" you're good is bowl season, when it's already way too late since the national title game is set.

Now you know why I have such a beef with tOSU being ranked in the Top 5.

During this big Urban "win streak" from last year - We STILL have no idea how good tSOU is...and may not...until the BCS Title game.

tOSU never had to play a BCS Bowl game last year - so we could see how this Urban Meyer version of Ohio State measures up against the best.

We don't know because of the sanctions. And the perception is toward - they aren't good enough and given tOSU's recent history - nobody is going to give them the benefit of the doubt - very few want to see them matched up against the SEC's best...ugh, been there - done that enough. What a middle finger to the neutral public that would be.

tOSU may go two years w/o playing a real contender until the ultimate game.

That's not fair to all the other contenders. That's Boise State pathetic. Gearing up for one game...in going on a long undefeated run.

I agree, but we don't know how good the PAC 12 is either then. Stanford only beat an 8-5 Wisky team by 7 in the Rose Bowl. K-State had serious flaws that a bad Big 12 couldn't exploit, but not many of us were sold on them.

This is why I have a beef with Stanford and Oregon being in the top 10!!!

Seriously I don't have a problem with either of those teams being there, but there is a lot of circular logic in CFB.

"you can't use last years results for this year!" If OSU was allowed to play in the post season last year, and beat ND for the title, OSU would be in the driver's seat again. Fairly or not.

The argument is going to be that Stanford Oregon UCLA and Washington are really good. The problem is that who have they really beaten THIS YEAR to prove that?

Edit: And I'm not bashing you in any way; just kind of Catch 22 for OSU right now

You mean their recent history that has them winning the last two BCS bowl games they played including a dominant win against mighty Oregon?
