Will we continue to see players regress on defense under Chavis?
Not sure that is possible. Maybe after they develop some.

To the OP ... you are not the only one that feels this way. "The Chief" is not going to change anything about the way he handles things. How old is he? "The Chief" is comfortable making his money as DC at LSU.

As has been said many times before, its easy to look good with All Americans running around the field as has been the case here alot.

Is "The Chief" coaching up the current talent? I say no. I see nothing new or different from game to game about the way the current defense plays. As I said before, to change the current defense would make "The Chief" uncomfortable in his Tee Pee (pressbox).

I think that we are going to be stuck with "The Chief" for awhile. Les does not believe much in change as evidenced by the "manuric" offense that we all had to endure for years until Cam was hired to shake things up a little.

Because this is a forum and I can express my opinion, here is what I believe should happen:

I would set some expectations for "The Chief" regarding this current defense. Expecations that require some imagination and adjustments in order to be met. If these expectations are not met before the end of the season, LSU should move to bring in a fresh young defensive mind (like a Kirby Smart) to replace "The Chief".

There I said it. I have seen enough of "The Chief" and would like to see a shake up at the DC spot.

No disrespect to "The Chief" , Its just that he is what he is and will not change now or ever to overcome the current challenges. Maybe a fresh wave of All Americans will come and raise his star back up on their backs.
