Why do you feel this way? I would like to make a little more money, but I am glad I don't feel inadequate.

I have friends that likely make 2-3 times more money than I do and I don't think their lives are exponentially better than mine. I could argue the opposite, the big earners are knocking down 60 hours a week in some law firm...no thanks

I concur. I've known many colleagues who have cut their income by 2/3 or more in exchange for lifestyle improvements. I can't say I wouldn't consider doing the same myself.

My boss probably makes 6-8 times what I bring home but there is no way I would change lives with his. He is constantly stressed to the max, up all night, and work incredibly long hours for 10 years to get there. Not worth it imo.

Don't feel inadequate... until I read this thread. That was mostly a joke, I mean I don't make enough that I go buy a new car simply because I want it, but the bills are paid and I haven't worried about money in a long time, which is enough for me.
