That was pretty incredible. I haven't seen that much footage of 70s football (only 80s+) but Archie sure looked like a ball hog. Even JFF doesn't scramble that much.
I'm sure they found every play he scrambled in college and put it in the documentary

Class-less
You have to consider the circumstances for Peyton. His dad played for that team, he grew up watching them, and playing on that field as a kid........he probably wanted to play for the Saints and it ended up he had to face them in the Super Bowl after everything that had went on with Katrina. It was probably a confusing situation for him and he just wanted to get somewhere and be alone.

I think Archie handled the whole Maziel thing like an a-hole
He never admitted to anything, he just sent him home and he was probably drunk.
Archie did it exactly right, someone needed to finally discipline him

Manky you are spot on and anyone who doesn't agree just don't know what they are talking about. I worked with some of those uptown people and they referred to Lsu as a cow university back in the day. Probably a dying breed though

I think Peyton said he left the field quickly because he wanted the spot light on the Saints, if I remember correctly, that's what he said.
Being a good sportsman is playing fair, respecting the game and giving credit after to an opponent. Manning did all those things Sunday. In his postgame press conference he said of his quick exit:
"I certainly know how it was three years ago when we won. There's not much consolation for the guys who didn't win. There's the stage being set up and the celebration. It's time for the Saints to celebrate. It's their field."
That's probably a tad disingenuous, but no more than it would have been if Peyton had walked over to congratulate Drew Brees.
For the record, Peyton did call Brees later in the night. Said the Saints quarterback: "Peyton's a class guy." If the man who was supposedly snubbed thinks so, that's enough for me. LINK

I used to see Archie every once in a while. He parked in the side drive of where I worked at. He was the only one allowed to park there except maybe the Mayor. One day after he had parked to far up in the curve I told him he had to move so the tour buses could be able to pass. He ignored me and about 10 minutes later 3 busses were lined up and unable to pass. I had to go and find him and tell him to move he acted like a jerk about it. So I say tiger bait as he pulled out of the drive and threw a orange behind his vehicle as he neared the street. Not a very nice person at all in my opinion

Your missing the point. Peyton was to pissed to shake his hand like everyone else does after a Super Bowl loss. He just did that to try to save face. And Drew being the good guy he his said whatt any one with class would of said. Bottom line he was a butt hurt turd

He may not be a nice person, but as a kid he came home to find his dad had killed himself. To shield his mother from seeing the mess, he cleaned it up. He was never shown affection as a child, I'd say he is a good and decent man who vowed to raise his family with love. I think he did a great job.
Has fame gone to his head at times? very possible, but I admire him as a father and a decent person.
I named my son after Peyton. Although that was before he went to Tenn.

He was pissed that he lost and you may be right, I have no doubt he's a sore loser, lol
I don't think you can define his whole character by that butt hurt move. He is a fierce competitor and that same competitive spirit that makes him a sore loser also makes him a great quarterback. It drives him.

Yeah Peyton had no ties to Tenn, but we were an absolute train wreck in 94. Only manning I could have seen go to lsu was Eli and only if Peyton would have went to ole miss. The ESPN production the other night was outstanding . Honestly I never knew Archie's dad committed suicide .

Wouldn't Odell Beckham Junior's presence at LSU sorta contradict this ?
Don't confuse him with facts.
You boys to young to remember where Odell Beckham Sr played college ball? You should its like Archie and Eli, heartwarming

My son was born in 1996, so yeah he was a junior at Tenn. I guess, so you busted me, even though he went to Tenn., I always was a fan of his
