...when it comes to recruiting news, predictions, etc?

My father can't turn on a computer, let alone use one to navigate to the internet and search for decent recruiting information. (and as an IT professional this is somewhat of a sore spot, but I digress...)
Anyhow, he gets the Tiger Rag delivered to his house weekly and uses it as his main source of recruiting news besides what they show on ESPN. Is it fairly accurate? Worth even wiping your arse with?
TIA

I would argue the main complaint is that the news is "old" if that bothers you. Him probably not.

I don't read it that often, but when I have read it, it is mostly the same stuff that is on here except a few days later.

Just as solid as any other source, only in print and later IMO.

I haven't read Tiger Rag in years, but growing up it was how we got our LSU news. Back then it was quite informative.

I haven't looked at a Tiger Rag since 1994 when I spent $1400 to buy my 1st PC (100 MHz)! It was my lifeline to LSU Sports from 1983 until then. In the 90's when the football team wasn't in the top 20, the Morning News just had the score unless they played a top 20 team. I was excited to get it and hated when they only sent out one a month during the summer. Until Oct. of 2010, I had every issue from 83-94.

My 82 year old dad was that way about computers until I got him to sit down and look at all of the LSU sites with me. He got his own laptop right after that. He subscribes to the old TigeRoar site and reads the recruiting board over here. He's always telling me about the rumors some guy that's a coach in Alabama tells them on TigerRoar. He reads Dandy Don and looks at the pics of my great niece on

FB. My mom gave him an IPad that he takes when they travel. For him to go, hotels have to have wireless and multiple ESPN's. He takes the IPad so can surf and play Free Cell & Solitare.

Takes a ton of pictures on trips. I go over and help him download them and post a few on his FB. He loves internet access. Just have to take his computer in for virus removal every so often because he thinks every message about downloading something is from a legitimate source.

Take the Tiger Rag. Cut out a rectangle in the middle (leave about 3" all around the edge). Log on to this site with a computer and open a good thread. Place him in front...looking through the hole in the paper.

Everyone is happy and up to date

Will he suggest that an in-state recruit is property of Louisiana? Will he say that a young man is a traitor and cry like a little girl if say, GWIII commits to an out of state school?

If so, I'd rather keep him in the dark.

But since he's over the age of 12, and doesn't read the Rant I assume that he's decent and wouldn't do that anyway.

Just print Dandy and/or email him.
