I know they said that about the tech at the beginning but I could have sworn that Fitz? Simmons? Said the piece from the lab that was leaking gamma was Shi'ar

The Chitauri are the Ultimate Marvel version of the Skrulls. They were imported into the mainstream Marvel storyline as enemies of the Nova Corps.
In other words, it's a tie in to Guardians of the Galaxy.
Could someone fill me in on the "tahiti" reference?
