I habe never had good experiences with inboard gas engines. The worse was being broke down by Midnight lumps in January in 4-5's. My buddy sold that boat shortly afterwards. My crew and I fish out of a 23ft sea fox with a single f250 yamaha. We mainly fish out of Venice and usually venture no more than 30 to 40 miles offshore depending on weather. Just gotta pick your days right. I agree with earlier poster, there is strength in numbers. Seatow will come get you up to 20 miles offshore if I remember right. Good luck and stay safe.
