Make Murray uncomfortable. This will be his best chance to prove to scouts he's ready to be a potential NFL starting qb. I don't know the exact stats but I know his record against top teams isn't very good. When we beat Georgia in 2011, we made him uncomfortable
Yup, absolutely got to get pressure on Murray, and then he's a different guy. He's not someone like McCarron or Boyd who can stand in and take the hit. He'll blink and start falling away.

Allen, rasco, hunter, freak, ego, Eugene, Thomas... Any or all blitzing players can make a name for themselves or earn the respect their hype lends itself too if they play well.
Be careful about blitzing UGA. If there's one thing I like about UGA's offense (most of it I think is embarassingly overrated) it's their endless supply of pressure release packages. They are an exceptional screen team, and if you get someone like Marshall or Gurley in space, look the f out. They also have quick hitters to the TEs and even TE screens.
Clemson was able to get pressure on UGA with just their front four, and it was the difference in the game. UGA's OL is stronger on the edges than up the middle so Ego and Freak really need to make a name for themselves. They need to have the kind of game Logan did against Bama. Their OTs are pretty solid.

The best defense LSU faced so far this year was TCU. Since that game the LSU offense has improved considerably, with the addition of Hill just one of those factors.
Georgia does not have a secondary nearly as talented as TCU. With that being said, LSU establishes both a running and passing game early on and does not let off the gas throughout the game.
LSU 48 Georgia 27
As I have been saying all year long, LSU will outscore every opponent they play this year. The offense is that good. The defense is getting stronger week after week.
The only team giving me any cause for concern is Texas A&M. I see a high scoring game that weekend.

Good post, but i don't agree with your outcome. I hope you are right.

I was going to TLDR your post. But i did read it all and found it quite informative. Lot of truth to your analysis. Sound like LSU has got to figure out how to stop the two powerhouse RB. But in truth same thing with Bama. Think LSU offense will rack up the points against UG defense so it may wind up with who has the ball last in a barn burner. Hope LSU is the victor then they can rest up a little and get ready for the back to back Bama and ATM games. OL has to stay healthy and defense got to improve some.

Lets hope LSU can hold Ga. to 27 points.

That's what platoon means. or use committee. I don't care.
LSU does NOT run a platoon system. Hill is the man; others play when Hill is tired, when they have special packages, and when it doesn't matter.

I'd be stunned if LSU held Georgia to 27 points. I think LSU wins, but I expect it to be very high scoring.
I think this LSU defense has a ways to go.

Can't argue that. I think we stay with them, and barring a plethora of penalties and turnovers, win the scoring contest with them. I won't mind giving 30 as long as we have 31....

Clemson fans...
UGA has been a pure pro style offense from the beginning. A guy like Stafford specfically came here from Dallas because of that.
We missed JHC because he was suspended. Our kicker was suspended. Our top 3 SS were all out against Clemson and we were relegated to a walkon. Multiple guys missed the last 2-3 weeks of camp. First year DL coach. Clemson was nearly unstoppable offensively with a top tier defense much less a young walking wounded one.
Here is my week 5 UGA scouting report.
DL - 7-8 guys have been rotating in and out sporadically this season. The two biggest DL, John Taylor 330 (RS FR.) and Chris Mayes 320 (JUCO with 3 years eligibility) have been brought along slowly but will get plenty of time vs. LSU
ILB - Herrera and Wilson are 2nd and 3rd respectively in conf. tackles.
OLB - This is where the pressure will be coming from. Jenkins everyone is expecting to produce like Jarvis Jones... and Floyd is a fr. that got two sacks vs. UNT.
SS - JHC is a 6-5 220 pound guy that is very fluid. Moves well like a WR but on defense.
FS - Matthews is a true fr. and is having an up and down season so far. Just had an int. vs. UNT.
CB - Talent here but green. Easily the weakest group out of the defensive units.
Much of the game vs. Clem and Scar we ran a 4-2-5 with little success. We are a 3-4 defense the rest of the way now and that helped contain UNT to 7 yards rushing on 25 attempts. Of course I expect LSU to get yards on both ground and air. Turnovers will be the determing factor I would surmise.

Gurley has come into his own this season. Last season he was just okay.
If being the leading rusher not named Manziel in the conference is "just ok", then I'll take it.

But Jeremy Hill is a 235 to 240 lb. freak of nature
So is Gurley. He's closer to 225 now.

I hope you're not putting too much hope on 2 inexperienced DL to stop LSU's running attack.

Herrera is impressive, Wilson is ok.

Expect what you want from Jenkins, but right now he's nowhere near Jones' level.

JHC is a very impressive athlete, but he doesn't strike me as a natural safety. I'm intrigued with him none the less, though.

Matthews has a very good future in front of him.

You can go ahead and say the CBs suck.

This is the truth!

We move him around ALOT. We put him all over the field. Rushing the qb, covering the slot, roaming the secondary at safety. He's great to have on that side of the ball because he's so versatile.
