Copied from the link:
LSU defensive tackle Ego Ferguson was named the Southeastern Conference defensive player of the week on Monday for making eight tackles with a sack in the 45-13 win over Kent State Saturday, and he quickly went about showing that he may not have much of an ego.
"The defensive ends made a lot of those plays for me," Ferguson said. "They contained a lot of plays for us and forced a lot of plays inside, so the running backs cut back inside. That enables us to eat inside. It's a team thing. It wasn't just me. The tackles came to me.
Ferguson led a defense that held Kent State to 58 rushing yards on 32 carries.
A junior from Mims, Fla., who went to Hargrave Military Academy in Virginia, Ferguson leads LSU with 16 tackles on the season, including 2.5 for 16 yards in losses. He is in his first season as a starter.
