2010 is really the last year that stands out to me as being truly stacked. The Monitor, This is Happening, The Suburbs, High Violet, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, Astro Coast, Teen Dream, Halcyon Digest, The Wild Hunt, The Age of Adz, etc. My favorite year since 2007, which was such a ridiculous year, I won’t even begin to try and name all the amazing albums from then.

I personally thought last year was really really strong.

Yeah, I remember the 2010 music thread on the M/TV Board. It was just everyone being amazed by the non stop quality and quantity of great albums. Just a wonderful year.
This year has, IMNSHO, sucked. It's been dominated by disco, middle aged hip hop, and old fart rock n roll. Nothing vital, though some bands have turned out some good albums, as there's just too music being made for everything to suck.
But right now, the only great album I believe came out this year is Frightened Rabbit's Pedestrian Verse. But a lot of bands are releasing albums in the fall, so we'll see what happens. I haven't heard the new Man Man, Arctic Monkeys, NIN, or Obits.
I love Neko Case, but she put out a merely solid album. It's no Fox Confessor. Mudhoney is still showing how all the young kids are a bunch of wusses, but it's nowhere near their 90s stuff.
