I didn't like the reboot at all. I thought Spock and really all the characters felt too forced.
But I saw ID last night and was very surprised how good it was. The characters seemed natural and believable mostly, especially Kirk and Spock. All of the homages to TOS I thought were very well done. The differences in the universe and the impact on the characters were explored in interesting ways. Overall one of the better Star Trek movies in my opinion. It made me wish we could watch their 5 year mission on tv.
