I'm just glad New Scotty's pet isn't a poodle. I'd hate to see him dress up a poodle in a Star Fleet uniform. Simon Pegg's Scotty is really the only reimagining I don't like. He lacks the gravitas that Doohan brought to the part, and Doohan could still be funny when the occasion called for it. I'm a Simon Pegg fan otherwise.

Well, Doohan was a real live warrior, so that's a lot to follow.
