Yeah that seems like it would kill the battery. I'm just not familiar with how they work and how much of a drain they are. I have never tried bringing a TV before, but I don't really want to miss the Bama-A&M game and the Oregon game. Does everyone that brings a TV use either an inverter or a generator? I guess there aren't really any other options.

You can get a small gas generator with enough power to run a TV for like 150-200 bucks.

We use one of the small, quiet Honda generators and run two TVs, a satellite box, and 2 or 3 fans. Like the other poster said they started cracking down on plugging into outlets several years ago. We've had campus police check our setup a few times.
