They need to come down hard on that kid. He should be sentenced to some to a couple hundred hours of community service, counseling, kicked off the team and suspended from school for at least the rest of the semester.

Lost me here. People who do dumb things need every ounce of positive education they can get. Hell this kid would probably view it as a reward. Go thug nasty and not have to deal with homework? Sheeeeettttttt.
