Seriously..other than a handful of ethnic restaurants and old Algiers, the Westbank offers nothing interesting. No music venues or bars worth a shite, no museums, no attractive architecture, parks- zilch in the way of culture or entertainment. Thats why the eastbank looks down on you buddy.

Well, that's not all true.

Like you mentioned, the Point has some bars/live music venues. Gretna Fest always brings a good lineup and Bomtown brings in some decent talent every now and then. It's not great, but its not NOTHING.

For food, it has Mo's, Moscas, Gattusos is solid, Cafe 615, but no "fine dining".

Jean Lafitte park, swamp tours and good local fishing out of Lafitte as well. By boat, you're only about a 40 minute run to grand isle.

You also have Bayou Segnette for some good fresh water fishing.

For golf, youve got TPC, English Turn and Stonebridge and Timberlane are some cheaper, decent courses.

It isn't the wasteland alot make it out to be.

I've eaten at all of those places many times and none of them are anything special.

OBrien's is as fine dining as the Wank gets, and that is actually a very good place.
