87% seals the deal, and, typically, the facts are on my side.

Many of the rebuttals here make no sense... they concede that Atlanta could have easily gone the 70 yards necessary to kick a long field goal but not 80 when a touchdown was necessary. And even then, the kicker would have had to split the uprights, the Saints would likely have had some time left to respond, and the worst case was overtime.

Like I said, the potential reward far outweighed the risks. Thank you for providing the link to prove it.

So if we didnt make it and the defense is playing lights out. We had 3 sacks.Defense may have gotten a sack in the end zone for a safety and Saints ball again to run the clock. All I know is we won a great game was very close to losing it

because they did

because they didn't. These are not what ifs, these things happened. The only what if, is whether or not we get the conversion and if one of the best kickers in the league can make an XP distance FG.

Additionally, I'm also left to wonder who would excercise better judgment in such a situation. On one hand there is a SB winning NFL coach with 6 years of experience under his belt. On the other, there is a weirdo who posts videos of himself dressed like a dog online. hmmmmm, tough call.
