For some reason, I was thinking Cameron was going to do something innovative and unusual. Instead, what he did was make everything simple, and fundamentally sound.
We looked like the fricking Pittsburg Steelers of the 70s out there. Mett wasn't gonna throw for high percentage, but that's fine- his completions were to WRs down the field for first downs. No dink and dunk, no fancy packages, no trick formations; just solid offense in a base formation. You WILL have to play against the run off-tackle, because it's coming. Run the ball up your nose until you crack; and if we need a "trick run", it's Beckham on an end-around out of the base. And because every play looks like it could be an off-tackle run, we're gonna run play-action passes, and those will be down the field- no 5 yd routes. Mett might only complete 50%, but what he completes will be first downs.
Simple football, really. And it's what the choir has been preaching for years- we have the talent to play straight-up, no need to make it complicated.
