Alfred Blue may catch everyone sleeping in 2013
quote:

"I'm real eager to get out there after sitting out a whole year," Blue said, smiling. "I can feel it. The countdown is just beginning.

quote:

Said fullback J.C. Copeland: "He hits the hole and explodes, you wouldn't think he had an injury. He's better all around than last year, his speed, his strength, everything."

I wholeheartedly agree. He looked amazing in the first few games last year. When he went down, I knew we lost a huge advantage going into the rest of the year.

Blue is a small horse, but he is a fast, strong horse.

Now, I have always loved J.C. When he blocks, he blocks..........

Unless LSU has greatly improved their passing game, opponents will still simply stack the box.

I'm excited for Blue. He looked like he was on his way to a breakout season before his injury.

I wouldn't mind Hilliard stepping up too.

Bring back shake and bake!

He is going to catch half of the fan base sleeping. Severely underrated by a good chunk of this fan base despite the fact that he was going toe to toe with Hilliard at the end of the 2011 season

Blue bounced back quickly and by spring practice was ready to resume practicing. Miles said he could have participated in contact drills but was held out as a precaution. Except for one play. Miles finally relented during a full-contact scrimmage. Blue put on a white jersey, took a handoff on a zone read play called 83, and stepped to the left. He put a killer hip fake move on linebacker D.J. Welter and was gone on a 40-yard run. "It was like he was shot out of a cannon," Welter recalled.

Blue will be the "darkhorse" of the SEC though most of us know better.

How excited must Alfred be?

Cam Cameron's running back his last year at Indiana averaged more than 7 yards per carry and led the nation in all-purpose yards. He's top 10 all-time in NCAA history in yards per carry.

Cam's running back at San Diego is the all-time single-season TD record holder.

Cam's running back his one year in Miami was leading the entire NFL in yards from scrimmage when he sustained a season-ending knee injury in week 7.

Cam's running back in Baltimore has two 2,000-yard seasons from scrimmage.

While Cam's development of quarterbacks gets the lion's share of the attention, his running backs have absolutely thrived in his system.

I think blue was our best back in 2011. If he wouldn't have gotten injured I think he would have been All American last season. The kid is scary good.
