No gap at all, what was a gap to Jesse was how it went missing..he had obviously thought of it and was right when he asked if sauls man lifted it from him when confronting Walt in his living room.

He probably really just wanted to believe Walter. Walter used the child who was killed on the playground, Thomas, to his advantage after seeing how much it shook Jesse.

Jesse's pot was lifted the exact same way as the ricin. Saul works for Walt. Jesse isnt the idiot he once was. He knows Walt needed him to get Fring. He also knows walt makes poisons from beans and flowers.
