Granted, 'close' may only count in horseshoes, handgrenades, and atom bombs - but we were almost there last year...

Let's get 'em all this year!

Lots of Truf in that article. Most notable to me was the Minter goes out UF scores.

People forget the Mingo barely played the second half of the Clemson game due to the shits or something like that. He was wreaking havoc before he left. Last year was just one of those wierd years that if it could happen it did. Tcu had one of those years last season as well. The difference is that TCU finished
7-6 in the small 12 and LSU finished 10-3 in the SEC.
...yet TCU has the coaching advantage according to the media. :)

I believe it. The loss of the HB was huge. Our young guys now have a year under their belts....
Never say never, guys. Things could very possibly fall into place.

It's good to remember that we were one last second play short of winning the West
A good showing in the SEC Championship and who knows where we would have been...

Captain obvious strikes again. Every team has the same problems. What if... What's and If's are good for nothing.

Cant you say this about a lot of teams though. It 07 we were a couple first downs from knocking off LSU. Last year, Oregon was a missed OT FG from playing for it. If WVU doesn't totally TANK a game in 07 against Pitt they play for it. Okie St. would've played for it in 11 if they don't lose to ISU. We were number 3, they lost and we moved to number 2 like it has always been.
A game is 60 minutes long and the last play is as important as the first. One team makes them, the other doesn't. Yea, LSU had a chance last year but our defense also rose up when they had to. If if's and but's were candy and nuts......
If Kstate or Oregon wins and LSU beats Bama, LSU still dosent play for the title. Teams win, they don't drop in the polls. The NCAA basketball tourney selects teams from a pot and play a tourney. Football does not, it matters where you are ranked after the final regular season or championship games have been played and that is all that matters. If 1 and 2 win their last game, they play for the title. They weren't gonna jump LSU over Oregon and Kstate had they both won. It would've been Kstate and Oregon for the title No matter what happened in the SEC championship game.

It sure would have been nice to have Dopehead on Bama's last drive.
