Depends if we get pressure from the d-line

I hope so. I miss all the interceptions we had in 2011. That was a fun season! So many turnovers in our advantage.

I think a big play against the secondary now and then is possible. It happens when young guys forget their positions (think the end of last year's Bama game).
I also think they'll try more, not knowing what Rickey Jefferson et al are capable of... and they'll regret it.

Ga. will try the lsu secondary early & often. I think by the time we play them the Tigers will be ready!

Hugo, it starts up front and this front four will have a better collective push than last year, Mingo and Montgomery just were not as effective as they should have been. I think the DTs get up the field a bit quicker also. Our coverage down the field will be solid but that Ole Miss game was hard to watch.

I remember reading some insane stats on how well we defended the deep ball with PP and Da Clay Pigeon at the helm. For passes thrown over 20-30yds, we intercepted as many balls as the receivers caught. If the jalens can play half that well, I think we'll be ok.

UGA will actually try to test the run stopping of our D-ends. Our D-ends are fast so they will be able to get pressure. What we dont know is if they can stop the run. With UGA's huge offensive line and great running backs expect to see UGA try to do what UF did against us last year. LSU corners and safeties are actually very mature compared to the line.

With Simon gone, you can definitely bet to see the deep ball against our young corners and Loston.
What young corners? Mills was a true freshman starter last season, and Collins played in every game as well. This is their second year playing a lot of ball. They are not young any more.

I hope every team believes we can't defend the deep ball!

unless we can pressure the qb and i am not sold that we can. imo, this will be chavis' toughest year and one in which we will have to experience growing pains with many players having to experience their learning curve.
i think you're wrong on the pressure the QB thing. Those guys are hungry, angry and HUGE. they'll bring the pain up front.
i do agree that it'll be the chief's hardest year in terms of position depth across the entire defense. Youth is great for enthusiasm, but we don't have that "know what's coming" experience back there.
should be fun to watch!
p.s.: i think our LB'S take a HUGE load off our young DB crowd this year. there's always a rotating strength section in a Chavis defense, this year the strength is at the LB level

I expect to see Pachall go deep several times if he can get the time he needs.
