No they were not. Superman Returns having a higher rating is hysterical. No one likes that movie.

Man of Steel is the bizarro version of Superman Returns. There's some stuff I like about it, like Superman saving the plane, but it fails for the most part. It just seems to me that Snyder tried to make the exact opposite film and shot his wad with it. There is no reason that we should have had that level of destruction in the first film and leave it largely unaddressed.
