The love for the saints has always been there no doubt, but he has somewhat of a point. My whole childhood I grew up listening to the saints on the radio because they were blacked out in BR due to nobody going

I think the fan base has always been good, but it's certainly been different in the Payton era. I'm 22, and I can say the last 7 years, the Saints have added a lot more fans. Like the guy said before, there were blackouts in the late 90s (the game where the Browns beat us on the hail mary, for example). Look around now, there are more people in Church on Sundays with jerseys than there are with suits on.
