Following all of these nba media guys through hoopshype's media twitter thing really made it painfully clear how douchy nba writers are.

The baseball guys seem REALLY PASSIONATELY into their game. They love baseball. The football guys are really procedural. Its all about player "X" contract and how many weeks player "Y" might miss.

The nba guys just seem set out to show how smart they are. They all seem to think they're these incredibly clever guys. It really does seem that Bill Simmons has created an entire generation of young nba writers who've basically set out to mimic his shtick. Most just end up being unbearable and unfunny though.

I get that, but the NBA is such a ridiculous league. You need a healthy sense of humor to follow a league where Ricky Davis throws up a shot at his own backboard in pursuit of a triple double or where a Javale McGee exists. It's one reason I find it so much more interesting than MLB or NFL- it's a fun and funny league.

Internet gonna internet.

I stick to reading Ziller and Lowe primarily. They are the best and have been for some time. Mahoney/Golliver at SI are thoughtful reads as well. Moore is very good, but he never, ever shuts up. I'm actually disappointed by the name dig. I don't care if he likes it or not, but it's the summer. Nothing else is happening and he can't finish his analysis with something other than saying he hates the name? He's better than that.
