My mistake, but unfortunately what the fans want means nothing until we stop going to games, which will never happen.

How else will Reliant Stadium and Houston attract a game like this?

I am the OP. Obviously this is a very touchy and divisive issue in our fan base. Here are my responses:
1) Neutral site games are definitely all about the money. I really would not mind doing them once every five years if we had other good OOC home games. Whoever said we still have the sponsors pump it up just keep it a home and home was a good idea- why does it have to be a neutral site? It is about the two teams not the location.
2) I took Economics at LSU. For those telling me to sell my tickets- I already sort of have. After 15 years as a season ticket holder I decided to go halfsies with a buddy starting last year. It was different when I lived in BR- I went to every football game and the mid week baseball games. But it is just not worth it or economical for me to pack up he truck and drive an hour to see us play Furman. If I sell my tickets whoever buys them is going to also get sick of seeing us play Furman for that amount of money and they won't go. Then less concession money for LSU to where they are losing money. Eventually the market will work it out it just seems as though LSU wants to do this the hard way instead of making fans happy with less kent states and furmans and better OOC home games. Yes if we were playing Florida State in Death Valley, I would not mind going to Houston. Both will make money.
3) I went to VA Tech at home in 07, UW in Seattle in 09, and Oregon in Dallas in 11. Though I love road trips like no other, I would take VA Tech in 07 any day over the others. Seattle was an awesome trip so that would be next. Oregon was cool and unique, but I don't want it to become the norm. It was my third favorite. It is only our third neutral site game against TCU and I'm already sick of them. TCU is not very exciting to me either.
4) RATeamWannabe------Address me by full name-Smoke Brady Dinardo. CapCrunch------sounds like someone has penis envy. To both of you-Why would I post less when this subject generated 10 pages already? Could it be that this is a serious matter to us LSU fans worthy of being debated?

If LSU is making soooo much jack from all of these neutral site games, why is it then imperative that both TAF contributions AND season ticket prices will be rising next year ? Seems like all this "extra money" could offset price increases particularly since the home schedule continues to be down-graded.
because they can
If you can't afford them, get rid of them. I know it is hurting your business's bottom line though
I'd rather the AD be as profitable as possible and give as much money back to the university as possible.

Something tells me you have a high sense of self-worth.

ya think.
LSU is bleeding right now. Make as much money as possible and give back to the university. It isn't just about recruiting kids to play football either, you want to recruit kids for the university too.
