First of all dip shite I am not asking for stock tips. This thread is nothing more than a casual conversation about speculative stocks. Anyways, I say BRK B is expensive and is not favorable for me in terms of volatility as I only play with around 5k. If I were to buy BRK B at 114 I wouldn't be able to afford fifty shares and it is likely it will stay below the 120 mark for the foreseeable future.
First of all, the amount of shares is irrelevant. Just because something is "expensive" doesn't mean you won't get volatility. Look at AAPL, probably the most followed stock in the world, just in the last few years has gone from less than 200 to around 700 and back to 400. There may be a correlation between cheap stocks and volatility but it mainly can be attributed to the companies being generally shitty.

However with a cheap stock, KOG for instance, I bought at 7.50 and was able to buy hundreds of shares so when it rebounded to 9.50 I was able to clear over 1200 off of my small 5k gamble.
So you'll lose 1200 just as quickly. I bought BRK.B for $74 two years ago so I am now sitting on a 55% return and took half the risk.

Hope this cleared things up.
All clear, hombre. Didn't mean to rustle any jimmies. I just think its sad when people come on here asking for stock tips and some clown, like Baylor or Rivers, "helps" them out and they lose their arse.

Right, in my original response I did not mention anything about volatility. The price in relation to the lack of significant short-term volatility is the reason I am not interested. Not the price in it's self.

That's a solid buy. Nice buy and hold. I was just saying with my trading strategy I don't want to hold longer than a month or two. It took Brk.B 2 years to reach that price. I'm looking for short term trades.

The poster that mentioned AMRN however did have an interesting stock which I would like to know more about assuming they actually know anything about it.
