I think you just said LSU has a better team than TCU
I have not disagreed with this at all in this thread or others. LSU is stacked. TCU is not. Don't underestimate the Frogs ability to put up a good fight though. I expect LSU victory by 7-14 though.

I think you just said les miles is just as good a coach as Patterson.
I think Les is a very good coach. I just believe Patterson is better. He has won games against "superior" opponents that he was not supposed to win with players that were not supposed to be that good. TCU has been the underdog in many more contests than LSU. Les has continually won games by margins that were much closer than expected against lesser talent. LSU is rarely the underdog in a game and when they are Les has not fared as well. I also think a HC should be able to step in and run any aspect of the team with success when needed. I feel GP has the ability to do that and Les does not. There is good evidence to support Les' inadequacies to run either the D or the O. There is however, minimal evidence to prove GP can run the O but there is ample evidence that he runs the D now.
I agree continued time against tougher opponents will either prove or disprove my beliefs. As far as the excuses comment, you should go back and read what I have written. I am not making excuses. I have only stated the circumstances.

We face "superior" teams every week in the SEC buddy.

Because of his style of play.

Auburn, Arkansas, Mississippi State were really superior last season

Funny you forgot to mention South Carolina and A&M

for those that still don't realize this, I am as big of a LSU fan as I am a TCU fan. So don't talk to me about superior teams "buddy".
The use of the word in quotes "superior" was indicating one of two teams for particular game.
How many games in the last 5 years was LSU the underdog or perceived inferior team on the field, even in the SEC?

Cocaine!
but seriously:
To once again correct the multitude of ranters, Pachall was suspended for a DWI (alcohol) arrest. This was not unlike T-bob's alcohol incident on campus for which he suffered minimal repercussions (not a single game suspended). However, in an effort to help the person Patterson met with Pachall and his parents and decided 1 yr removal from team and mandatory drug and alcohol rehab. Pachall did not test positive for meth or coke. In an unforced admission, Pachall admitted to having tried cocaine and ecstasy once each in the past when he was questioned 18 months ago surrounding the drug scandal on campus and his failed MJ test. ALL of the players that were arrested during the drug issue for selling MJ were dismissed from the team. No player tested positive for anything other than MJ. Pachall was drug tested weekly after that incident and was negative consistently. Alcohol however, as many of you know, is easily acquired and not tested for on a urine drug screen.

Must be cool seeing 2 of your favorite teams going at it.

I'm not the person you're responding to but it was unbearable at first for me. Then I realized that I have to stay loyal to my school over who I grew up cheering for. The only time I cheer against LSU is when they play TCU.

It is. I really wanted my friends and family from both places to experience both campuses, stadiums, and tailgating at both locations.
I hate the loss of pageantry in CFB now with the push for big venue games. Home and Away is always better IMHO.
I have to agree with hornyforlife though.
I was planning on cheering for the home team. But when condensed to one game I was torn.

So are we supposed to start sucking again as a program in order to be underdogs and win more games that way?
Of course less wont win many games as an underdog if we rarely are one. And if we are its against bama
So you're whole underachieving argument is moronic

Of course not.
A dominant team should dominate lesser teams though. To use another poster's description of TCU, LSU should beat up on inferior opponents.
Even in good years, under Miles LSU has had some big scares with much worse (worse than LSU) opponents.
Losses happen for lots of reasons but usually the team with better athletes and more depth will be victorious, even in the face of poor coaching. But when a great team loaded with great athletes and ample depth fails to perform well, there can be several reasons but coaching moves toward the top of the list. Getting your team up for every game is the HC job.

A win is a win. Les is a coach that has his style and it isnt going to change. He isnt going to play fast paced and run up the score just to look good like Oregon. shite the only game recently were were a CLEAR favorite and lost was Clemson.
Posted on 8/14/13 at 1:55 pm to Bleeding purple
I see your point. One thing though that I think you may be overlooking, is the fact that LSU is almost always the favorite. Therefore, you have a lot of opportunities to lose to "inferior" teams, because every team you play is considered "inferior."

not sure he can play fast paced but he has run the score way high a few times (I have no problem with this, it is the other teams job to stop you)
63-14
41-3
41-14
all from last year

I agree. Les does not loose often (a little more than GP but who is counting).
But why does he stumble/struggle despite the win, against teams like AUB or Ark last year? 12-10? 20-13? both teams were horrible. 2010 Tenn? Latech 2009?

That specifically is what I am pointing out.
I am not noting a high loss rate against inferior teams. LSU wins. I am noting struggles (not losses) against teams that are simply WAY out classed by LSU's athletes and depth.
When TCU has struggled it was predominantly against superior opponents where the frogs were the underdog going in.

Way to pick the weakest opponents we had. There is a difference btwn running it up and the other team being completely outmatched.

well when you dont play in the SEC I would hope so

I can imagine this would've been the case for me. Growing up a Husker fan, it wasn't until my senior year of HS that I really started getting into TCU stuff ('04). There were some talks back in '06/'07 of us possibly matchup up with Nebraska in a bowl game... I have no clue how I would've handled that.

Yep Aub 3-9 with no wins against BCS opponents, and ARK 4-8 with only 2 BCS wins, one of which being the shitty AUB team, were SOOOOOOOOO much stronger than Washington at 7-6 with 5 conference wins last year.
Regardless, the point I was disproving (your point) was that Les can not and will not run up the score even on lesser opponents.

I give up.
You (specifically More beer please) are too stubborn to even see that you are laughing at me proving my point.
