Cause I, and anyone who isn't a comic book nerd, doesn't care about any of those characters. I like batman, and I like Stringer. Would like to see him in the role.

when the one's case falls flat..they resort to responses like the one above.

what contradiction there. You like a brand label hero and character that's only relevant to people who actually watched The Wire. By an actor who built the role you so love.

If Elba is that great(and I think is), why not cast him role that he would own, not just redefine? Shoehorning him because you like him is a terrible case for changing one of an iconic character's defining physical traits (like it or not skin color is).

There has yet to be legitimate case for why casting these great actors into a great black hero role is a lesser option. Plenty of franchises start with little known about the character(Iron Man,Blade,etc.) by mass audiences. Making a character black is a lame arse Hollywood move.
