There are several of great black heroes...why bother making white heroes black? Is it because some audiences (black people included) won't support a lesser known commodity and prefer the brand label?

fricking Iron Man was a b-lister and Marvel turned him into their #2 commodity behind Spider-Man.

List of great black heroes, IMO:
Black Panther
Luke Cage
GL John Stewart
Falcon
Cyborg
Mister Terrific(my personal favorite)
Lightning
Static Shock
Firestrom (technically half black)
Monica Rambeau (she's an Avenger)
Bishop
Cloak
Steel (frick you he's a good character)

among many others..so with all of these roles out there, why make a white hero black?

To OP:
No to Bloom.

I'd rather Brolin than Bloom.

Anthony Mackie is playing Falcon in the next Captain America movie. Hopefully he's popular enough to warrant a spin-off of his own, as I've always liked Mackie and think he could be a great leading man in a comic movie.

Idris would be perfect for this. Love the character too.

I get what you're saying, and I don't even necessarily disagree. I think making a white superhero black in a movie just for the sake of doing it is stupid. In this case though, I think it works. Elba is a big guy, smooth talker, distinguished. Except for the fact that he's black, he would fit perfectly imo.
