She is from NOLA, but was hard corps into LSU while a student. Camped out all day to get front row of the student section, traveled to away games, etc. She stayed die hard in graduate school. But a combination of teaching Tulane athletes, not liking the way LSU fans act (especially the bandwagon jumpers), not liking Les Miles, and not liking the way that LSU has tried to push around the rest of the state schools soured things for her in a big way. She is now one of the biggest Tulane fans I know.
And, honestly, I don't mean any of that nastily. Just trying to answer your question honestly.
If you had told me when I met her that I'd ever see her wear Tulane gear into both Tiger stadium and the LSU women's basketball arena I would have been shocked. But I've seen both with my own eyes.

I get most of where you are coming from but being an LSU graduate myself, I couldn't turn on LSU because some of our fans are pricks or Les Miles. Hell, I'm not a huge fan of him. Tulane is a private school so I don't really get the push around part, but I would say blame John Lombardi and the UL system board more aka Jindal for most recent changes in policy. I'm not sure who runs those boards now as I have graduated from LSU already so don't keep up as much.
