Oden's been waiting for the Heat to raise their offer. Hence finally putting out there a deadline. He is not passing up $2 million dollars more just to play for the Heat. He hasn't been doing all of this ridiculous rehab to play for charity.

The Heat are not going to pax more luxury tax for Greg Oden. They can pay him the veteran minumum without tax penalties. The Pelicans can pay him $3 Million. if he is waiting for Miami to go over the tax for him, he will be waiting for a while.
