The problem with Paul is that for as good as he is/was, he has never been past the second round of the playoffs
Yep. Tough to win big in this league when your best player, by a WIDE margin, is 6 feet tall.
The RINGZ argument is silly to me though. How far did Kobe get with a roster comparable to any of Paul's? LeBron is a basketball prototype and the best player since Jordan. He didnt win shite in a weak conference until going to Miami. Doesn't mean I rate either guy less.
Takes the right talent, coaching, organization to be in the title mix. And then you need a hell of a lot of luck to pull one out.

Cracks me up too. According to this board, Simmons et al are dumb for critizing the Holiday trade. Proven talent >>>>> potential. Here its potential >>>>> proven talent. And I love it. People are on board for this team and will defend our guys.
I do think we sometimes forget how spectacular pre injury Paul was though. Those 07-09 seasons were must watch every night for him alone.
I will never forget Paul v the Bulls at home in 07-08. He went supernova and single handedly pulled out a comeback W. Just unreal.

I was thinking the exact same thing. It is almost the same situation (Paul vs Davis, Holiday vs Noel). Paul is an all pro though. You're not supposed to let those go..

1. I doubt Chris Paul ever makes the playoffs playing with nothing but D-Leaguers and end of the bench guys.
2. LeBron never won shite playing in Cleveland? News to me.

That 2007-2008 roster was still better than any roster that Kobe had that didn't have Shaq or Gasol. There was no excuse IMO to not do any better than the 2nd round. When Paul said "Thank God we're at home" in that press conference after Game 6 of that series, I was worried though about the mentality that they were going to have going into Game 7. Much of that Game 7 was tough to watch.
