just think a TD scored in that game (which is essentially what you were saying) would've made for a more definitive outcome in people's minds. i don't think bama gets mulligan if we score a TD in OT with game on line.

Kige this.

As close as the vote ended up being, I think a TD would have flipped a vote or two which is all it would have taken.

That or like five dirty arse bought and paid for coaches not putting OSU like 5th or 6th

As monumentally unfair as it was. Saban lobbying for his team to be #2 on national TV (Gundy was not given same chance) swayed some of the BCS
"Human Poll Voters and Coaches" to put Alabama at #2.
EVEN THOUGH OSU was told if they beat the crap out of former #1 Oklahoma (which they did, only by FIVE TOUCHDOWNS), to win the Big 12 title, they would stand a good chance of jumping Bama.

Why? Because one of the factors in the BCS calcuations (SUPPOSEDLY!) is SOS and winning a conference title - """""""B O T H""""""" which Bama did not have the advantage in and trailed OSU badly in the BCS points - or """SHOULD"""
have, anyway.....

But what decided the fate of OSU and the entire end of the 2011 CFB season and who would play who in several bowl games - including the NCG, was simply a faction of BCS Human Poll Voters - coaches, former coaches, and some who - I don't know HOW IN THE HELL got the privilege to vote -
who decided that 12-1 Big 12 Champ Okla State was only the FIFTH OR SIXTH best team - even though the rest of the voters put OSU 2nd or 3rd (except Satan - he voted OSU FOURTH- hmmmmm.)
OSU was very close to being #2 BEFORE they slaughtered Oklahoma.

There were also some 'what-ifs' too:
Oklahoma State's FG was inches from being good against Iowa State in their OT loss on the road.

Claiborne, Shepard, and Ford came close to scoring TDs against Bama.

It is the biggest travesty in the history of the Milky Way Galaxy that 13-0 500-123 LSU was "rewarded" by a "do-over" against the Toothless MulliGump Teafagging Detergent Heads.

Would we have beaten OSU? Who knows? The point is that Alashama did not deserve to play for the NC.
