As The Tanner Scheppers Turns

Despite the lack of hitting over the weekend for the Rangers, the more entertaining story came from their almost-All Star Tanner Scheppers, who has found his role as a solid setup guy. When he didn't even warm up on Friday, fans got suspicious until this story came out:
Scheppers Was Sucker Punched
Unfortunately, being an athlete usually means the true story will find it's way out, creating a more entertaining story:
Instigator In A Bar Fight
At least we know they can pick up girls in different cities

He may have still gotten punched from behind like the initial article says but the reasoning behind the punch is obviously vastly different

I was in Cleveland for the series this weekend. I was staying pretty close by.
I thought the story was strange from the start because cops were everywhere and no one ever tried to frick with us (I was with two other guys).
I actually enjoyed Cleveland. What I didn't enjoy was sitting through the Friday and Saturday games. What a mess.

I was in Cleveland this weekend and went to the games on Fri and Sat...as another poster said, I found it odd that people would just walk up and sucker punch a guy for no reason, especially given the fact that it seemed there was a 1:1 ratio of cop cars/regular cars

Yeah...they were all over the place. I felt pretty damn safe.
I wonder who he was with from the team?
All I know is if it was a bar fight it pisses me off. It's pretty selfish. Because we could have used him Friday night instead of having to force Frasor to go three innings. We might have won the damn game.

My younger brothers is a buddy of Scheppers. I sent him an e-mail with both articles. Here was his response:

After reading the first one – I was about to write back to you saying ‘I bet he was talkin ish’

The article said Joe Nathan and AJ Pierzynski. I can't believe AJ didn't just give the assailants the Michael Barrett treatment

Maybe they thought his behavior was so out of place that he deserved to get his arse kicked.
