A couple seconds later, one of those geese starts helicoptering down. Seemed to take 10 minutes for that sucker to fall all the way to the ground. Bird was alive...just clipped its wing.

I posted this before on a thread talking about banded birds but its worth a repost:

I shot 3 canada geese from a flock – all were banded and the numbers were consecutive xxxxx-15, 16 and 17. My uncle shot at same flock got one bird no band. To be honest I was surprised to get 3 geese w 3 shots and no I wasn’t floating a 4th shell ;) (had a 1187 then) – killed the 1st 2 dead as hammers the last one had to chase down. I talked w a DU and FWS bio and this was the 1st time they ever heard of a triple w/ consecutive #s.
