RR weighs 175 and has missed the whole summer. Unless he's all world, I doubt he comes in and starts or jumps Collins
Exactly, and he seems like a very similar player to Collins anyways. So unless Robinson can beat Collins at his own game (as a freshman, when Collins has a year of SEC play under his belt), I don't see Collins getting surpassed by Robinson.
I could see White moving up, just because he is so hyped. If he is that good he might have to play.
Also, Dwayne Thomas looked solid in the spring game. Good technique and athleticism.
Really, I think Mills, Collins, Thomas, and White make a pretty solid top 4. Throw in Holmes who didn't look half bad in the spring game, too.

They do not strike me as similar players in the least. They play the same position but that's about it.

Well they are both 6'2". Collins was about 180 coming in. Robinson will be about 175 from all reports. They seem to have a similar build. Maybe Robinson has a longer stride and wingspan, and can maybe turn and run a bit better.
We'll see I guess. These are good problems to have.

it's been said that rashard was running with NFL receivers at patrick peterson's camp and handling them pretty well. i like white a lot, but does he really have more hype than that? they'll both be great and, hopefully, get some playing time this year. but neither will be a starter.

If collins plays like he did the majority of last year were in trouble

I'm a fan of Collins but I can't help but think he will not be the #2 CB by year's end. He was really, really bad at times getting his hips turned and running with WR's that got a step on him. That's not to say he will lose his nickel spot, but we also have other good candidates there too.

I just hope Mills and Collins learn some lessons from the Clemson debacle. We threw three corners at Hopkins and nobody could even so much as slow him down.

I agree with that.

He and reid were the weakest links in terms of coverage

Loston was far worse than Collins

1 td? Doesnt really matter since LSU pounded Washington
Collins's coverage against moncrief almost cost LSU the game

Craziest part to me is that Kevin Tolliver will be the best of all of them on day 1. Kid will start as a true freshman at LSU. He is PP7 reincarnate.
How do people make this call after watching high school highlights?
I've watched HS highlights of Juco and D2 guys that looked pretty "impressive."

Can't blame Reid for having some stepbacks last season. He was a good safety, but the likes of BT18,TM7 & MC17 made him look amazing in '11.

CB- Mills
S- Martin
S- Loston
CB- Collins
NB- White
Collins WILL be starting next year. Chavis has groomed him specifically for this season. He will have a breakout season and will have a 3rd round grade after the season and could possibly go pro. He is more fluid and flexible than Simon was, and is extremely physical and rangy with great ball skills.
Everyone is excited about White, and for good reason. Kid is a stud. But, its extremely hard to come in as a fresh and start. And not just start, but take Collins spot who looked really good towards the back end of the season. Mills started because TM got the boot. White or Mills will be the NB and the other will be the CB opposite of Collins.
We have a trend of how we use CBs. We have 1 big, physical, rangy CB out there paired with a smaller ballhawking CB. Weve done this for quite a few years. Collins will be that big book end CB. Mills will be the other. When we go NB, Mills or White will be the NB. I cant remember the last season our 2 starting CBs were under 6'0.
RR is a great looking prospect with unreal potential. But, is light and hasnt reported yet. Redshirt.
Eugene was our best blitzing DB last year and we all know how much Chavis loves to send the CB. He will be the dime back and will take on the Ron Brooks role.
