I still see them having the advantage over Karr week 1.
It will take a gargantuan effort for St. Paul's to beat Karr this year. I'm not sure how familiar you are with Karr's roster for 2013, but it could quite possibly be the most talented team in the country. That is not an exaggeration, either.

The father McClesky works the Mandeville area for kids. Obviously he is not as good at it as Magic.
Wasn't aware of this.. St. Paul's is a harder sell to the Mandeville kids (that weren't planning on going to SPS to begin with). Not only is Mandeville a great football program with a great coaching staff, but it is also one of the best public schools in the state.

It really is a tough spot for Coach Sears. His kid is better but if he starts him as a sophomore there will be parents saying he is playing favorites. So he is probably going to give the other kid the chance first. The other kid's arm is just not good. But if they start 0-2 (Karr and Jesuit) then he will probably go with his son.
I think you're spot on with this.

I heard they are going with Jesse Kellum.
I hope Kellum has taken a more olympic, explosive-style approach to his training regimen, at least for training the football team. Powerlifting isn't the best lifting style for football training.

I agree. I hear this every year about Karr. And it is true that Karr is absolutely loaded every year. But SPS beats them every year week 1. If it was week 10 I would say Karr would kill them. But it's week 1 so I think SPS has a very good chance.
