By the way, this a great pickup for St Pauls.

Most definitely. Especially since they are switching to the spread. They really lacked the personnel for the spread without Brumfield. That McClesky kid was really the only capable WR they have returning. Hopefully the QB from last year has been working on his arm strength, because anything over 20 yards had a serious arch on it last year.

On defense, the front 7 should be tough, but the DBs will be very young, and a team like Karr in week 1 will present serious challenges.

If Gaines and Brumfield stay healthy I really believe with the new playoff bracket St Pauls has a legit chance to win it.

I hope they can at least get out of the first round

I haven't heard about EXCL though? What's the story with that?

They did lose the older Chatman. He got kicked out of the school. I know he has a younger brother that will probably start for them. But anytime you lose a 6'3'' 280 pound it hurts.

Gaines and Brumfield give them two guys that can break any play for a TD. Their spread will be good just because of the personnel. If they run their schemes well they will be really dangerous.

I don't normally disagree with you but I have to disagree with you on this kid. I think daddy is the only reason Sears keeps him on the field. Unless the kid blew up over the summer he is only an average high school player IMO.

I think its only a matter of time before Sears' son is the starter. Younger Sears is the best QB they have but he is just a sophomore.

Sears switched off-season workout programs. (Word I got was that he blamed the lack of postseason success on that) That was a big advantage SPS had. Mandeville has only been going to XCEL for the last two years and look at their postseason results.
