chase sapphire preferred waives foreign transaction fees. you also get $400 when you spend $3000.

It does charge a $95 annual fee after 1st year. But, you can downgrade the card right before to get around that.

like wegotwood said, don't close it.

To to a Chase branch and apply and you only need to spend $2000 w/in the first 3 months.
