How so? I've hunted all my life. Have had many shotguns and handguns.

I'm no expert and don't have the knowledge that many here do. I've read here that they aren't "registered"; however, I just called a dealer to ask what exactly they keep in terms of a paper trail.

I do know there is a record of your buying it and the serial numbers tying it to your name. That may not be "registering" it's "traceable". In the scope of this issue being discussed, isn't that the same?

but there is record so for practical matters, isn't that the same.
