To me, if I'm eating anything with a fork and knife, I'd prefer corn. But if I'm making fajitas or something handheld, flour is just easier. I prefer the taste of corn personally, but in those cases corn just falls apart all over the place and quickly becomes useless.

I'm sorry to say but your girlfriend is wrong. Either is fine for any meal in the day. Time of day is not what determines what is better, it's the actual entree that does.

For instance, some people enjoy barbacoa for breakfast which is amazing on fresh corn tortillas with a good salsa. Typically, the rule I go by is if rice or some type of sopita is involved you go corn. Otherwise flour is best. A contradiction to that is a good menudo which is perfect with flour.

I prefer the taste of fresh made flour tortillas anyways and will most of the time request that no matter what im eating.
